CD Christ is born
Lyrics
1. Kontakion, Byzantine chant
(words by St. Romanos the Melodist, 6th c.)
Today the Virgin gives birth to Him who is above all being, and the earth offers a cave to Him whom no man can approach. Angels with shepherds give glory, and Magi journey with a star. For unto us is born a young Child, the pre-eternal God.

2. Sticheron, mode V
The Magi, kings of Persia, knew with assurance that Thou, the heavenly King, wast born on earth. Led by the light of a star they came to Bethlehem, and offered their chosen gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. Falling before Thee they worshipped Thee: for they saw Thee who art timeless lying as a babe in the cave.

3. God Is With Us, mode VI
God is with us, understand, O ye nations and submit ye - for God is with us.
Hearken ye unto the ends of the earth - ...
Submit yourselves, O ye mighty ones;
For if ye again strengthen yourselves,ye shall again be vanquished;
And whatsoever counsel ye shall take, the Lord shall bring it to naught;
And the word, whatsoever ye speak, shall not remain with you;
And of your fear we shall be neither afraid not in dread;
But the Lord our God, Him will we hallow, and he shall be fear unto us;
And I be trusting in Him, He shall be unto me sanctification;
And I will be hoping in Him, and shall be saved by Him;
Behold I and the children which God hath given me;

4. O Yulelog, O Yulelog (Christmas song)
O Yulelog, O Yulelog,
Our old cousin, you are welcome to us and to our homes!
O dear Serbian Yulelog, our old kinsman.
O Yulelog, O Yulelog, you bring us so much of joy, with sacks full of all good things;
You announce Christ to us, you glorify and tell of Him.
O dear Serbian Yulelog, our old cousin.
O Yulelog, O Yulelog!

5. Prokimenon (Ps. 76:13, 14), mode VII
Who is so great a God as our God? Thou only art the God that doeth wonders.
6. Photagogikon, mode I
Our Saviour, the Dayspring from the east, has visited us from on high, and we who were in darkness and shadow have found the truth; for the Lord is born of the Virgin.

7. Polyeleos ( Ps. 134; 135)
Praise ye the name of the Lord; O ye servants of the Lord. Alleluia
Ye that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. Alleluia
Praise ye the Lord, for the Lord is good; chant unto His name, for it is good. Alleluia
For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto Himself, Israel for His own possession. Alleluia
For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. Alleluia
All that the Lord hath willeth He hath done, in heaven and on the earth, in the seas and in the abysses. Alleluia
Bringing clouds up from the uttermost parts of the earth, lightning’s for the rain hath He made. Alleluia
He bringeth winds out of His treasuries; He smote the firstborn of Egypt, from man unto beast. Alleluia
He sent forth sings and marvels in the midst of thee, Egypt, on Pharaoh and on all servants. Alleluia
He smote many nations and slew mighty kings. Alleluia
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now, and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Alleluia…
Glory be to Thee, O God.

8. Kontakion, mode III
Today the Virgin gives birth to Him who is above all being, and the earth offers a cave to Him whom no man can approach. Angels with shepherds give glory, and Magi journey with a star. For unto us is born a young Child, the pre-eternal God.

9. Prokimenon for the Epistle (Ps. 65: 4), mode VIII
Let all the earth worship Thee and sing unto Thee: let them sing unto Thy Name.
10. At the Little Entrance (Ps. 109: 3,4)
From the womb before the morning star have I begotten Thee? The Lord hath sworn and will not repent: Thou art a priest for ever after order of Melchisedek

11. Troparion, mode IV
Thy Nativity, O Christ our God, has shone upon the world with the light of knowledge; for thereby they who adored the stars through a star were taught to worship Thee, the Sun of Righteousness, and to know Thee the Dayspring from on night. O Lord, glory to Thee.

12. Kontakion (Valaam chant)
Today the Virgin gives birth to Him who is above all being, and the earth offers a cave to Him whom no man can approach. Angels with shepherds give glory, and Magi journey with a star. For unto us is born a young Child, the pre-eternal God.

13. Communion Hymn (Ps. 110: 9), mode I
The Lord hath sent deliverance unto His people. Alleluia
14. Sessional Hymns (After the First Kathisma)
Josef was seized with fear in contemplating the mystery in which nature is surpassed, and, and his thoughts went to the fleece covered with dew, the bush unconsumed by fire, and Aaron’s rod that budded, O Mother of God, for thou didst conceive without seed. Thy spouse and and guardian witnessed for thee before the priests and cried: “A virgin has given birth and, after childbearing, has remained a virgin!”

15. All ye nations clap your hands!
All ye nations clap your hands
For Christ the Saviour is with us.
He was born in Bethlehem, Judea,
a babe wrapped in swaddling bands.
Shepherds play their pipes,
Giving thanks to God, Who is born.
Wise men have come from the east,
Bringing frankincense, gold and mirrh.
The Pre-eternal Word ha come down
To vanquish all the idols at last.
And all their powers are no more;
Let Christ God reign forever!
